Thumping Technique 101 Blog Hop

Welcome to another exciting blog hop, this month we are going to be focusing on the Thumping Technique. This is a nice and easy technique to do and a fabulous way to add more than one colour to your stamp.Techniques 101 banner
I decided to use the Vertical Greetings stamp set because it is perfect for this type of technique and having the greeting included in this set is an added bonus.  I started by inking up the topiary bush stamp using Pear Pizzazz ink and then did the thumping technique on top using multiple coloured markers (Cajun Craze, Garden Green, Always Artichoke & Early Espresso).  I then coloured the trunk in using the Early Espresso marker and the pot using the Cajun Craze marker.  I stamped the saying, ripped and roughened up the edge and then adhered to the card front.  I rounded two of the corners using the corner rounder punch and then adhered to the base card.

Now for the stepped up version which is not a lot harder to do.  I stamped the topiary bushes on a scrap piece of card (repeating the same thumping technique as above).  To create a little dimension to the card I cut the little bushes out and adhered them using a dimensional.  I made a little bow using linen thread and adhered to the pot using a glue dot.

To add a little sparkle I painted some clear wink of stella onto the topiary bushes.

oh I love the pretty colours you achieved in your topiary, what a great idea to use that stamp, and I love that you cut them out, adding interest to the card too….beautifully done
