Thoughtful Branches Bundle Blog Hop

Hi everyone, it is time for another Totally Techniques Blog Hop but this month we have decided to do something a little different.  Rather than sharing a technique with you, we have decided to share some wonderful ideas on different ways that you can use the Thoughtful Branches Bundle.  If you do not already have this bundle I recommend you get it ASAP as it is only available until the end of this month or while supplies last.

The first card that I am going to share with you today is a nice, quick and easy one.  I guess you can call it a 10 minute wonder 🙂

Rather than stamping the leaves image first and then die cutting, I did the reverse and started by die cutting out the leaves and then stamping.  Doing it this way I created a more random effect on the leaves by using Wild Wasabi and Always Artichoke inks.  After cutting out the tree trunk I thought the trunk looked a little plain.  Easy fix – all I did was stamp the tree trunk image over the top to give it a grainy effect.  To finish the card I stamped the grass, roughened the edge of the card, added some linen thread and a few staples.  I told you it was a nice simple card to do.  You should give it a go!!

I was having so much fun I decided to carry on playing with the Thoughtful Branches Bundle and made a stepped up version, and yes by the end of it I had very inky fingers lol.

I repeated the same process that I used above by cutting out the leaves first and then I stamped multiple colour inks over the top to create an Autumn effect (one of my favourite times of the year, yep this old girl can’t hack the heat any longer lol).  I stamped the grass and then sponged over the top for a softer look.  Then it was time to create the sky and puffy white clouds.  I started by sponging the sky making sure it was darker at the top and then lightening the shade as I got closer to the grass.  Now are you wondering how I created the clouds?  If so I am going to let you in on my little secret.  I started by daubering random patches of Whisper White Craft ink on different portions of the sky, sprinkled white emboss powder on top and heat set.  I then adhered the tree and leaves.  It still needed something else – hmmm lightbulb moment, I created a little pile of leaves.
