Sympathy Blog Hop DT#10

Hi everyone, it’s time for another Dream Theme Blog Hop and this month we are focusing on Sympathy cards.  It is always a sad and difficult time when you or someone you care about have a loved one that has passed away. There is not a lot you can do to ease the pain but a handmade card is a nice way to let the person or people left behind know that you care. DT-DreamTheme-DT2The project I am sharing with you today is using the Flourish Thinlits Dies, Embossing Paste and Decorative Masks.

I created the background on the watercolour card by adding colour using an Aqua Painter and picking the ink up from the lid of the ink pad.  While the background was drying I worked on the flourish, I die cut out 3 (one of each colour) cut and daubered early espresso on to the leaves and flowers before adhering to flourish.  I then went back to working on the background and added a thin layer of embossing paste using the brick decorative mask.  Allow paste to dry (can use heat tool to speed process up) and then add some more colour over the top of the bricks using the aqua painter and ink.

I finished the card off by adding some pearls, crystal effects to the flowers (fine-tip glue pen) and splattered some early espresso ink over the entire card.
