It’s time for another Global Totally Techniques Blog Hop, and this month we are showcasing the Spotlight Technique. Make sure you check out what the rest of the design team have come up with, their cards are fantastic.
I will start by giving you a quick run down on what the Spotlight Technique is for those that have never heard of it before. Well, it is a quick and easy technique where you cut or punch out a portion of the stamped image. You then highlight the punched or cut out portion only by adding some colour, leaving the rest of the stamped image plain.
I started by stamping the bird using different colour browns on the front portion of the card. I then stamped another bird on scrap paper but this time in colour, punched out the head of the bird using the 1″ circle punch, then popped it up on a dimensional.
To give the card a little more life I coloured a strip of the Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper using daubers and the same colour inks that I used on the head of the bird and then adhered to the card base.
For some more inspiration make sure you pop on over and visit the rest of the design team and check out their fabulous card ideas, you can do this by clicking on the next button below. Let’s start by looking at the gorgeous card Amy Koenders has come up with this month.
