Here is the Shutter Card that I have come up with for this months Fancy Folds Blog Hop.

I decided it was about time I inked up the Picture Perfect stamp set, after all, I have had it for a while now lol.  I guess that is what happens when you have so many things that you want to play with.  Anyway back to telling you a little about the card.  The Picture Perfect set is a two-step stamping set (meaning you layer the stamped images on top of each other) it is a super quick way to add multiple colours to one image (this set has 4 stamps to layer).  After stamping the Bird image I used one of the images from Timeless Textures and stamped around the bird so that the white card was not so stark and then lightly sanded all the areas excluding the words and bird, and finished by lightly sponging it.  I also stamped and sanded the background Designer Series Paper as well to create the same effect.  Adding a little Wink of Stella to the bird gave the image a little life.
Shutter Card Close Up by Patrice www.createwithstamps.co.nz
Rather than making a belly band for the card I decided to close it with a magnet 🙂 which is placed on the back of the square piece of card and under the right panel of DSP.  Here is what it looks like partially opened.

The really cool thing about this fold is when you open the card you have a hidden message, it is just like a shutter opening.  This is what it looks like partially opened, do you notice part of the saying is showing.

…..and when you fully open the card you see the hidden message, pretty cool huh.

The Shutter Card is a really fun fold to make, you should give it a try.  Unfortunately, I have not had time to make the video just yet, I hope to do that soon.  I know some of the other ladies involved with the blog hop have (Sandi & France), so make sure you take the time to watch their videos, I am sure they will inspire you to have a go.
Card measurements:
Thick White card
– Base card 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ & 6-3/8″
– Front piece 3-1/8″ square
Navy Blue
– Matting 3-5/16″ square
– Inside piece 5-1/2″ x 3″
– 2 pieces for cutting large banner die for inside of card (cut and score as per photo below)
English Garden Designer Series Paper
– Outside panel (x2) 5-1/4″ x 1-7/8″
– Inside panel 5-1/4″ x 2-3/4″

I used the largest banner die for the shutter and the 5th smallest circle die for the opening.
Like I said I have not made the video yet but here is a picture showing you the measurements and how I cut the banner.

I am really hoping this set carries over, cause I haven’t got it. Your bird looks so realistic in those colours Patrice, and I love the magnetic closure. First time I have seen one of these cards done that way. Great card!

This is a stunning card once again Patrice 🙂 I love the colors you’ve chosen, the little humingbird and the DSP make the whole card modern and uncommon… The little marks on the paper remind me of the light shining on the feathers of the huminbird I saw in the West Indies, it is so pretty! xx
