Markers Technique 101 Blog Hop

Welcome to another exciting blog hop, this month we are going to be focusing on using markers. The Stampin’ Up! markers are fantastic because you can use them in so many different ways but today I decided to focus on adding colour to a stamped image.
Techniques 101 banner
I love using the markers on the new glossy white card because the marker colour glides on perfectly giving a nicely coloured image.

The biggest thing you need to do is allow a little extra time for the stamped image to dry when you stamp on glossy card.  I coloured the entire image first and then created a little shading by recolouring some portions of the skirt etc.

Fathers Day Blog Hop #DT08

Hi stampers, it’s time for another Dream Theme Blog Hop and this month it is all about Fathers Day.  I know it is not Fathers Day in New Zealand until September, but it is time to spoil your Dad’s in other parts of the world.
DT-DreamTheme-DT2The project I am sharing with you today is a little gift card holder but it is also ideal for popping some money or a lotto ticket inside.

I am a firm believer that you should always show your parents how much you love them, after all, if it was not for them you would not be reading this post right now lol.  I kept this project nice and simple and as much as I was tempted to add some clear Wink of Stella, I didn’t lol.  I love sparkles but as the saying goes “men are from mars and women are from venus” is so true, they think so differently, they don’t seem to like the glitz as much as we do hehe.  So I added some Burlap Ribbon and stamped speckles on the background instead.

Big Buckle Card Blog Hop #TT16

It is time for another fabulous Fancy Fold Blog Hop and this month we are focusing on the Big Buckle Card.  This fold is an oldie but a goodie and very easy to do.  Make sure you check out all the other cards the rest of the design team have come up with, I am sure you are going to love them all.
Fancy Folds BannerI had a fabulous time playing with some of my new goodies from the soon to be released catalogue and this is what I came up with.  You are going to love the new catalogue as it is jammed packed with so many new and exciting things, if you want to pre-order the new catalogue then contact Patrice.Big Buckle Card by Patrice www.createwithstamps.co.nz
The punches were a little big to create the slot for the buckle card so I used the top of the stocking from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits dies as it was a perfect size lol.  The side panel was a little plain so I added some Copper Trim to liven it up a little.  I love how you can change the shape of the Copper Trim but pulling the sides out, so you can choose to use it as a thin strip or change the shape like I have.  I finished the front off by adding some crystal effects (fine tip glue pen) to the handle of the scissors, adhering some linen thread and adding a few metallic enamel shape circles.

Thumping Technique 101 Blog Hop

Welcome to another exciting blog hop, this month we are going to be focusing on the Thumping Technique. This is a nice and easy technique to do and a fabulous way to add more than one colour to your stamp.Techniques 101 banner
I decided to use the Vertical Greetings stamp set because it is perfect for this type of technique and having the greeting included in this set is an added bonus.  I started by inking up the topiary bush stamp using Pear Pizzazz ink and then did the thumping technique on top using multiple coloured markers (Cajun Craze, Garden Green, Always Artichoke & Early Espresso).  I then coloured the trunk in using the Early Espresso marker and the pot using the Cajun Craze marker.  I stamped the saying, ripped and roughened up the edge and then adhered to the card front.  I rounded two of the corners using the corner rounder punch and then adhered to the base card.
Thumping Technique by Patrice www.createwithstamps.co.nz
Now for the stepped up version which is not a lot harder to do.  I stamped the topiary bushes on a scrap piece of card (repeating the same thumping technique as above).  To create a little dimension to the card I cut the little bushes out and adhered them using a dimensional.  I made a little bow using linen thread and adhered to the pot using a glue dot.

To add a little sparkle I painted some clear wink of stella onto the topiary bushes.
