Hi everyone, for this week’s Stamping and Blogging Sketch Challenge I decided to use the Garden in Bloom stamp set and Color Me Irresistable Designer Series Paper. They are the perfect combination for the grunged effect I wanted to create. Here is my card for SB116.
I had so much fun creating this card, after all getting a bit inky sometimes is what card making is all about lol. Can you work out how I coloured the background on this card? Well, it is very easy to do, all I did was stamp some of the images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using different coloured inks onto the Color Me Irresistable Designer Series Paper. I then used a handy towel to remove the excess ink from the pre-embossed areas on the card and it created this fun grunge effect.
Color Me Irresistable DSP tips when creating the background on this card
– After stamping make sure you lightly dab over the card first with the handy towel, then give it a good wipe as this will stop the ink from smearing.
– Use a solid image rather than an outline image to create a more dramatic effect. I have used stamps that have no particular pattern because I wanted the flower to be the main focus point.
The Tiny Triangles embossing folder has a small pattern so it was perfect for embossing the little green banner. It was a little too clean so I stamped the lines over the top to tone it down a little. The other banner has been covered using the Everyday Chic Washi Tape. I finished the card off by stamping the flower on some scrap card, cutting it out before adhering to give it a slight 3D look.
and this is what the inside looks like.
Check out the video I have made showing you just how easy it is to create this fun background.
