Hi Stampers, it is time for another Totally Techniques Blog and this month we are focusing on the Cling Wrap Technique. This hope is only going to be a tiny one this time around as most of the ladies have not been able to take part but I am sure they will be back next month with some exciting projects for you.
This is the first time I have ever tried this technique and I will def be doing it again. Don’t you just love the mottled effect it creates in the background, I know I do 🙂 But you do have to be a little patient waiting for it to dry lol, kinda like watching paint dry, just a little quicker hehe.
When creating the background I placed a bit of cling wrap (glad wrap) on the table. I then used my lightest colour ink pad in each colour and pushed it onto the cling wrap to build up the base colour. I then used the darker blue and green and just tapped the corner of the ink pad on areas to create a two-toned effect. Lightly spritz with water and place watercolor card on top. Turn the card over so it is face up making sure glad wrap is still in place and then gently scrunch the glad wrap and leave to dry. Doing this will create the mottled effect, pretty cool aye.
I finished the card by stamping the stems and leaves directly onto the watercolor card and then coloured used a blender pen to spread the colour to ensure any areas missed were coloured.
I then stamped the flowers twice and hand cut them to create a layered effect. I finished the card by painting the petals using clear Wink of Stella, unfortunately I could not get a photo showing the dazzle but I can assure you, it is there.
