Butterfly Basics Bundle Card for SB95

Hi everyone, for this weeks Stamping and Blogging sketch challenge I decided to use the Butterfly Basics Bundle.  I love how Stampin’ Up! have the bundles available to purchase, buying a bundle allows you to get more product but pay less, how awesome is that.  Here is my card for SB95.

I started by stamping the background (some images have been stamped off first) and then lightly sponges around the edges.  I then cut out the butterfly twice, one in So Saffron and the other in Early Expresso card.  I adhered the complete So Saffron butterfly onto a piece of Vellum Card and then sponged the butterfly using Pumpkin Pie ink to create a two toned effect.  I then adhered the Early Espresso die cut butterfly on top.  I used some black Baker’s Twine and little Pearls to make the antennas and the larger Pearls for the body.  I coloured the Pearls in using a black sharpie.  I finished the butterfly off by painting on some Dazzling Details.

I wanted to create a more ruffled effect with the ribbon, I did this by putting a piece of sticky strip on the card and then slightly scrunched the ribbon as I adhered it.  Nice and easy to do and it creates a fun effect.
